ALISON COOK BEATTY DANCE (formally ACB Dance Company) was founded in 2012. The company is a classically based modern dance company exploring the universal human condition through expansive and emotionally driven movement grounded in American modern dance. The healing and transformational power of the arts inspires the company to work with diverse groups within the community, in addition to collaborative efforts with other artists. Under the artistic direction of Alison Cook Beatty, her choreography has been commissioned by companies such as Ballet Next, Columbia Ballet Collaborative,two years standing, Carolina Ballet Theater, Joffrey Ballet School NYC, Opera Dolche, The Boston Conservatory and NYU. Ms. Beatty has been awarded the 2013 sjDANCEco Award for Artistic Merit & Best Choreography, as well as a grant from the Milford Fine Arts Council and New Haven Fine Arts Council in CT three years standing, a grant from the Putney School in VT, two years standing, the Caroline H. Newhouse Scholarship Award, and a matching funds grant from the US government and the organization Assets for Artists. The company has performed throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, California, Vermont, and Washington D.C., and continues its rehearsal, performance, and community outreach events for 2015. The company has performed at New York Live Arts, San Jose State University, the Milford Fine Arts Center, the Putney School, the Manlius Pebble Hill School, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Harvard Art First Festival, SUNY Purchase, DUMBO Dance Festival, Triskelion Arts Center, The Moving Beauty Series, Dixon Place, the Hatch Series, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Salvatore Capezio Theater at Peridance, GREENSPACE, the Hartt School, the Schermerhorn Theater, the 92nd Street Y and NYU Frederick Loewe Theater, The Morse Black Box Theatre at at St. Johnsbury Academy in VT, The National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C., The Chappaqua Library Theatre, The Metropolitan Playhouse, and the Riverside Theater.


Alison Cook Beatty

Alison is from Milford, CT. She received her BFA from the Boston Conservatory of Music and was awarded the Ruth Sandholm Ambrose Scholarship Award. Ms. Beatty is the artistic director/ executive director of Alison Cook Beatty Dance Company (formally ACB Dance Company), founded in 2012 and based in New York City. Alison enjoys a successful career as a choreographer, dancer, director, producer, fundraiser, teacher, and dance model. She has performed with numerous dance companies and choreographers. Primarily with Paul Taylor’s, Taylor 2 and also worked with The Paul Taylor Dance Company, performing and teaching internationally and nationally. Alison has worked with many contemporary choreographers, such as  Milton Myers, Val Suarez (Off Center Dance Theater) Kristen Mangione (KM & Co.),Kitty Lunn (Infinity Dance), Brian Carey Chung (Collective Body Dance Lab),The Amy Marshall Dance Comapny, The C. Eule Dance Company, The Thang Dao Dance Company, Carolina Ballet Theater, Exit 12 Dance Company, David Dorfman Dance, Ballet Verite, Trainor Dance, and Morales Dance. Alison enjoys teaching dance to people of all ages and abilities. She is currently on faculty at The Joffrey Ballet School and teaches private lessons. Additionally, Alison has worked with several leading dance photographers and print photographers, including MSA Models, HBO, Dance Magazine, Dance Teacher Magazine, MOVE by James Houstin, Paul B. Goode Photography, Lucas Chilczuck Photography, Marc Safran Photography and Lois Greenfield Photography, Mark Cuddihee, among others. Please visit to learn more. 

Davonna Batt

Davonna is a native of New Mexico. She has studied ballet, modern, jazz, and contemporary, hip hop and musical theater. Davonna holds a B.F.A. in Dance and a minor in Business Management from the University of Arizona. Ms. Batt  is excited to be performing with Alison Cook Beatty Dance in her first season! Davonna’s debut with the company was this past December in Chappaqua, NY.

Jonathan Breton

Jonathan graduated from the Professional Superior Institute of Performing Arts of Paris and arrived in NYC in 2012 to attend the Alvin Ailey School. He performed for numerous musicals and for Rachael Kosch Company, Ko-Ryo Dance Theatre, Coyote Dancers, among others… Jonathan choreographed for the Compagnie de l’Etoile in France for four years and is now choreographing for AZOTH Dance Theatre in New York.  Jonathan debuted with Alison Cook Beatty Dance  last March at The Ailey Citigroup Theater in New York, NY.

 Megan Cohl

Megan was born in California and began her dance training at Pacific Northwest Ballet school in Seattle, Washington. She continued her training at Princeton Ballet School in New Jersey and was given the opportunity to perform in La Bayadere with the Kirov Ballet of St. Petersburg at the Metropolitan Opera House. Megan attended Marymount Manhattan College and graduated with a BFA in Dance Performance and a minor in history. While in college she performed works by Nancy Lushington, Lona Larsen and Maxine Steinman. She started her professional career in 2012 for the Mazzini Dance Collective. Megan began performing with Alison Cook Beatty Dance this past April and she is very inspired, as well as excited to continue her first season under Alison’s direction!

Audrey Crabtree-Hannigan

Audrey grew up in Long Beach, CA where she trained at Long Beach Ballet and Lauridsen Ballet Centre. She also attended summer programs at Houston Ballet and Milwaukee Ballet. Audrey is currently a senior at Columbia University where she has danced with the Columbia Ballet Collaborative and the Barnard Dance Department. This is Audrey’s second season with Alison Cook Beatty Dance, first performing with the company in Putney, VT.

Lindsey Miller

Lindsey graduated with honors at Illinois State University with a degree in dance performance and trained at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance.  Professionally, she has danced for Desmond Richardson, Shelter Repertory Dance Theatre, Beth Soll, Trainor Dance, Ballet des Ameriques, and Alison Cook Beatty Dance. Ms. Miller is a founding member of Alison Cook Beatty Dance, performing in her third season.   

Carolina Rivera

Carolina was born in Santiago, Chile. Ms. Rivera trained at The Teatro Municipal de Santiago and The University of Chile. Carolina was a soloist at Teatro Municipal de Santiago Opera and upon moving to New York City became a scholarship recipient at Martha Graham School and Member of Graham II. Currently Ms. Rivera enjoys teaching dance, choreographing, and yoga.  She is the Associate Director/Curator of The Moving Beauty Series, and made her debut with Alison Cook Beatty Dance at the Triskelion Arts Center, Brooklyn, NY, in September 2012.

Lara Tant

Lara was born in Philadelphia, PA, and began her earliest training with Donna Chrostek. Lara trained under Jean Gedeon at Pittsburgh Youth Ballet where she danced many lead roles. She furthered her training under the late Edward Stewart, who created many original solo works for her. Lara then continued her training at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, DC. She began her professional career at Ballet Theatre of Maryland, after which she danced in the Trainee Program at the Joffrey Ballet. Recently Lara has performed with many choreographers in NYC, including Rebecca Kelly Ballet, Signature Dance Company, Connecticut Ballet, Mooney-Cooley Dance and Exit 12 Dance Company, where she was a co-founder and Ballet Mistress. Lara has been teaching at Armonk Dance and Ballet des Enfants in Westchester County and Connecticut as well as The Joffrey Ballet School. She is thrilled to be dancing with the talented dancers of Alison Cook Beatty Dance.
